The hall provides a light and airy space offering the perfect setting for a wide variety of regular and one-off activities. Fully equipped to host functions ranging from wedding receptions to art fairs; it also serves as a thriving hub for social and indoor sports clubs, fitness classes, dance, and civic organisations plus a pre-school group during term time. A large free car park is contained within the grounds along with a grassed recreation field that stages local croquet league matches, family fun days and the occasional regional dog show.
In addition to the main hall, a committee/lecture room capable of seating 22 at tables, or 35 in rows with a single top table, is dividable to create two smaller rooms with their own separate entrances from the foyer. The Committee Room is now equipped with a state-of-the art ceiling mounted projector linked to a large remote-controlled screen. It and an additional smaller screen mounted to the rear of the room make internet streaming or slideshow presentations possible.
Toilet facilities have recently been refurbished to a high-standard.
There is a professionally appointed kitchen alongside a separate serving/bar with a hatch opening to the main hall to form a convenient catering suite.
Operated by a non-profit charitable trust on behalf of the community, the hall is carefully maintained by its own janitorial staff and an administration manager. It has been a vital part of the community since the 1920s when local people funded the creation of the original hall to commemorate the fallen of the Great War. Its successor, the modern Remembrance Hall, is now dedicated as a permanent memorial of the sacrifices suffered during both World Wars. The Hall is supported by the Rural Community Council of Essex
